The future of a city is as great as its ability to regenerate itself.
The great socio-economic changes require a transformation of urban development models, contemplating adequate solutions to new needs.
Genoa has chosen a dual approach to the issue: on the one hand, transformation through large scale project, on the other, widespread transformation with small targeted projects to fight against decay, recover of greenery and environmental quality improvement.
The municipality will ensure that regeneration and recovery interventions can also be implemented by private individuals, stimulated by incentives and rewards and by the intervention of exogenous resources.
The aims of our regeneration strategy essentially consist in recovering the sociability of "urban voids", through the growth of new buissnesses and the establishment of cultural and creative activities that promote a new sense of community. Also important are the transformation and creation of services through new technologies to fight aganist economic and social marginalization.
